Dez is in love with two things: his music, and cooking. As a child he had no interest in music until he saw Kiss at the age of ten. His father, forced him to watch Kiss in Symphony DVD and from the moment he saw Gene Simmons spit blood, he decided that, that is what he wanted to do with his life.
Originally Dez played for a band called, Usepa and tried to play every instrument possible refusing to let it die. In 2008, he joined Denarium, originally playing drums, but when Treck Kenyon, lead vocalist, and guitarist passed away Dez stepped up to the mic in attempt to keep his best friends band alive. After recording an E.P. album and going through many lineup changes, Denarium eventually lost touch, and fell apart except for Dez and Taylor Paige (bassist for Denarium), which continued playing music under the name, Created To Destroy. Sadly, after the breakup that band never saw daylight.
After almost giving up on music, Dez decided to give it one more shot and audition for, a Progressive Deathcore band, known as Cities of Desolation. He didn't end up making the band, but left an impression on Cities of Desolation's drummer, Dylan Dawes. Several months later, Cities of Desolation ended up breaking up, and drummer Dylan Dawes introduced Dez Troy to the family of Disengaged. After a horrible audition, Dez Troy still became apart of the family.
